Founder of Mindful Gifts CIC, Vicki Phipps, created the books with the help of a local artist who delivered art therapy activities to care homes. Mindful Gifts CIC is a ‘not for profit’ organisation and any surplus that we make on our Adult Colouring Books is reinvested to support the great work we do for people with dementia. This includes delivering daily activities and tea parties in our unique shop that is set in the past. support us
Our Vintage Tea Parties take place in our 1950s living room and scullery where you will be served a selection of finger sandwiches, cakes and loose leaf tea. Our tea parties are available to everyone from young to old and you can listen to your favourite music whilst you enjoy your tea served out of the best china!
Did you know that we deliver our tea parties for care homes, Ring and Ride and community groups . We have had pleasure on seeing peoples eyes light up ,
Our volunteers are trained to lay the tables, prepare the tea parties and look after the customers.
we are based in a real shop where you can visit and get advice about the range of activities we have available and the suitability for your specific needs. As a ‘not for profit’ organisation we keep our prices as low as possible and reinvest any surplus to support us to do the great work we do for people with dementia. This includes delivering daily activities, tea parties, giving talks in the community, and providing a unique shop that is set in the past that can be accessed in order to bring back memories.
We created the book due to our ‘This is My Life’ book being really successful and people wanted a version that they give to someone as a gift for a special occasion.
As a ‘not for profit’ organisation and surplus we do make on each sale of the book is reinvested to support the good work we do for people with dementia and older people.

Sandy spent a lot of time looking after everyone else and spent little time on her own needs. She went everywhere with her husband and would never have dreamed of doing something independently for herself. She came to our crocheting session to try it out and soon made many new friends. She also knew how to do rag rugging and put herself forward to help to run a session, teaching people how to make their own rag rugs. Sandy said that she loved coming to the shop and the sessions. She often makes the journey on her own, combining the outing with doings some retail therapy in the town.
Sandy now is a regular visitor to the shop, attending other sessions including sewing and peg dolls. She was invited recently to the Mayors Parlour for afternoon tea together with other people who volunteered at the shop.
We also decorate and furnish venues with household items that will stimulate memories. For instance, we have transformed a art gallery into a 1960s living room and a hospital as had a 1950s living room that patients and relatives can use to make their visits more enjoyable
