Mindful Gifts CIC have had the pleasure in supporting the Black Country Living Museum (BCLM) develop reminiscence boxes which will be launched next week at the museum. If you work with people with dementia you are invited to the official launch of, the Reminiscence Boxes, on Tuesday 21 September to coincide with World Alzheimer’s Day. The event is planned to take place at the BCLM (10.30-12.30pm). All participants booked on the session will have the opportunity to explore the museum in the afternoon, if they wish.
These reminiscence boxes are sensory memory boxes inspired by Black Country History, available to hire as bookable sessions in residential care homes, schools and community groups.
Each box contains a series of objects relating to its theme, along with an operational guide to help the user create an engaging and inspiring session.
Pictured above: our first Reminiscence Box session, hosted in partnership with Sanctuary Care. Each box can be booked with a BCLM Historic interpreter to facilitate your session.
Our boxes are designed to work in a variety of settings. They can be used as part of reminiscence therapy sessions or can also be used as educational tools. To see if our boxes are right for your organisation and to find out how they can benefit you, we would love for you to join us on Tuesday 21 September to experience a taster session. Our team will talk you through how each box works and how it can benefit you and those that you work with.
To RSVP contact our Sales and Ticketing team on 0121 520 8054 (lines open 10am – 4pm, Mon-Fri) or email@example.com. If you wish to inquire about booking for this event via text, please text us on 07520 632500 and a member of our team will get back to you.
Deadline: Friday 17th September at 5pm

Mindful Gifts CIC, Darlaston, would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of our Volunteers who have supported us this year so that we can make a difference to people with dementia, their carers and the community! Also, a BIG THANKS to the community who have supported us by bringing in donations , purchasing gifts and attending our activities!
Time on your hands? Then get them busy documenting your memories. You can do this on a laptop, scrap book or in one of our chronological order This is My Life Books. Have you ever thought, I wished I had asked a loved one more about their past when they were here? We often wish we had learned more about our families past and recorded these precious memories for our future families to read and learn about. Documenting our life stories is something that we all must do and the earlier we start to do this the better. That way we will have our memories recorded before they fade. https://www.mindfulgifts.co.uk/gift-ideas/this-is-my-life-book-to-document-life-stories-memory-book-detail
