Wearing a face covering lowers the risk of spreading Covid-19 to others through speaking and coughing, new research suggests. Speaking and coughing without face protection exposes people nearby to droplets carrying the virus that could otherwise be stopped by wearing a mask, according to the study. Researchers found someone standing two metres from a coughing person with no mask is exposed to 10,000 times more droplets than someone half a metre from someone coughing and wearing a covering. ‘Therefore, wearing a face mask can really make a difference’ and we have a duty to protect other people as well ourselves.
Vinyl records are back big time including singles and LP’s (Long Player). Many people prefer the vintage vinyl as you can’t beat the sound of the ‘snap, crackle and pop’ that enhances the authenticity of the music!
But what causes the crackle? One of the numerous reasons is microscopic debris and similar that is between the grooves and is picked up as a crackling or a bump sound when the needle is moving over it. Scratches to a records surface also will cause noise and skips depending on the severity.
If you want to spend a couple of hours reminiscing over your favourite vinyl, then a trip to our Mindful Gifts CIC Shop maybe just up your street! 1000’s available for your perusal.
