What is a Whatsit? -Poem by Mr S Robinson whose wife has got Alzheimer’s What is a Whatsit? It’s difficult to explain I’ve seldom found the answer Although we tried in vain You see my wife has Alzheimer’s and sometimes finds it hard to say The words that’s on her mind have suddenly slipped away It’s painful to see her struggle for the words She’s trying hard to find because all she simply wanted is that damn whatsit off the table or the thingy on the chair behind Although we have our problems and they are probably here to stay Just a knowing smile upon her fcae Will get me through the day
